Users Switch Websites That Fail to Load in 5 Seconds


According to a survey by #GlobalDigital (Limelight Networks) state that Indians are the most demanding internet users. Two thirds of Indian users cannot wait for 5 seconds for a web page to load and makes them move to other website.

About 54 percent of users would move to a different website to make a purchase if the current website is slow.

And nearly 10 percent of users do not visit a website that they previously visited due to slow performance.

More than 56 percent of Indians expect fast websites no matter what device they use and smartphones are their primary devices to access online content.

According to #MichaelMilligan, Senior Director of #LimelightNetworks points out that the market now days are very crowded and Brands can’t risk in offering poor online experience to their customers.

According to an Annual #GlobalReport that highlights online expectation and behavior of consumers from seven countries found major increases of time spent online and the impact of online experiences on customer loyalty.

Globally, More than 45 percent of people outside of workplace spend around 15 hours a week online, a 64 percent increase from last year. A third of Indians which is the lowest among the countries surveyed.

Indians also want to shop online safely. 69 percent have a negative opinion of a brand after it has experienced security issues with their site and 45 percent of them said they will not shop on a website that has faced a cyber attack.

Slow performance and security issues are a few of the main causes that impact users from visiting online shopping sites.
