The #Samsung #GalaxyS8 and S8 Plus are among the best smartphones you can get with its bezel-less curved display and top notch specs. They are few problems that came with it which is weird position of the fingerprint scanner, lack of dual cameras and poor facial recognition.

With the new Samsung flagship, all the problems mentioned above might be fixed with the launch of Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus.

Samsung chief, DJ Koh has announced at the press conference in Las Vegas that the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will be unveiled at the #MWC2018. .

According to various leaks we have an idea what to expect in terms of the specs, design and price of the Galaxy S9 snd S9 Plus.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Release Date:

At, #CES-2018, DJ Koh; Samsung chief mentioned that the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will be announced at the Mobile World Congress, earlier than their predecessors, the S8 and S8 Plus. DJ Koh didn’t mention the exact date, but it’s expected to release a day or two before MWC starts where large companies hold their press conferences.

According to two reliable sources, Evan Blass and SamMobile, they claim the device will be officially released on Friday, March 16 and pre-order will start on March 1 and will be available in the U.S. and South Korea and other markets will follow.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Specs and Features:

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus won’t have major upgrades and will be identical to their predecessors.

According to a report from VentureBeat, the S9 will have curved displays like the Galaxy S8 with 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch AMOLED panels with QHD+ resolution and an 18.5:9 aspect ratio.

ETNews reports that both the devices will use Y-OCTA display technology, which integrates the touch layer in the encapsulation layer of the OLED display, rather than using a distinct film-type layer like on older generations of Samsung’s displays.

Y-OCTA technology was used on the Galaxy S8 and even the S9 and S9 plus will take advantage with the tech where the displays will be thinner and have better optical properties and it’s been reported to be 30 percent cheaper to manufacture.

The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are identical in other specs except for screen and battery capacitu. The Galaxy S9 plus will have 6GB RAM and will feature a dual camera while S9 will have 4GB RAM like its predecessor and a single camera on the back.

According to Samsung, both will have the same 2D facial recognition tech found on the Galaxy S8 but faster. Samsung decided to ignore 3D technology due to “technological limitations” and concerns over user security.

Above is the retail box which shows additional info regarding the S9. It shows that the camera might be a 12 MP sensor with OIS and variable aperture — f/1.5 for low-light shots and f/2.4. Also it mentions “Super Slow-mo,” where that could mean the Galaxy S9 could capture videos at 1,000 fps.

The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will run Android Oreo with Samsung’s UI and Bixby, which appeared first on the Galaxy S8 series.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Design:

The images and videos of the S9 series have popped online and we now have an idea how the Galaxy S9 looks like. According to the pictures, we see that the S9 is similar to the predecessor S8 with a few small changes made with fingerprint scanner positioned below the camera.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Price:

The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus was priced at around $750 and $850, it was more expensive than their predecessors. But the  Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus won’t have much to offer than the S8 series, rumors claim they will have higher price tags.

If the S9 will cost more, we can expect newer devices like the LG G6, HTC U12 and Huawei P20 to come with higher price tags as well.

One thing you should know is that nothing has been confirmed yet. There is a possibility there will be no price hike and the S9 might cost the same as the S8.
