Spread the love

The new Samsung Galaxy S8 has arrived and we have all the details.

Samsung has now confirmed the Galaxy S8 release date was April 21, but it is now available in stores across countries.

Thhe phone now comes with a 64GB on board storage, rather than the 32GB of last year on S7 – plus there’s a microSD card slot with it.

Key Features

  • 64GB on Board Storage
  • Micro SD Slot of upto 256GB
  • Rear-mounted fingerprint sensor
  • Bixby AI assistant with dedicated button
  • Massive Infinity Display on the front
  • Refined user interface

Samsung S8 has three major upgrades that is the massive 5.8inch curved screen, QHD resoultion, it’s the best smartphone screen. Second is additon of a key on the phone special for Smasung voice assitant ‘Bixby’ which is a new edition to Samsung S8 & S8+. Third is the improved UI, Samsung has made it lighter to use and cleaner then before.

Design

The home button is gone now – there’s nothing visible on the front of the phone.

The fingerprint scanner has been shifted to the back of the phone next to the camera and i find it a bit high to reach, so don’t think users who cannot reach will be using it, so users instead will use the IRIS scanner or facial recognition.

Camera

  • Single, 12MP rear facing camera
  • 8MP front facing camera

The Samsung Galaxy S8 camera hasn’t been given an upgrade compared to the Galaxy S7, which is a disappointment, but still the 12MP sensor on the rear is still one of the best compared to its competitors, offering speedy snaps and great performance in low light conditions.

This year Samsung has added in something called multi-frame technology, itcaptures three photos and then selects the clearest image and uses the other two to reduce motion blur. Samsung says the merging of frames also results in better detail and exposures in low light.

Battery

  • 3,000mAh, non-removable power pack
  • Fast and wireless charging support

However, 3000mAh battery for S8 with a 5.8inch screen, will that battery last, its a question. As it’s hasn’t been upgraded, S7 had the same battery capacity, hope with the improvements in S8, battery shouldn’t be an issue.

Power and OS

  • 4GB of RAM
  • Android 7.0 with TouchWiz interface
  • Use two sets of wireless headphones at the same time

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is running Android Nougat, latest version of the OS with Google Assistant and improved battery management.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 also comes with Bluetooth 5.0 and you can use two sets of wireless headphones at the same time.

Samsung S8 is retailing at $850 and S8+ for $930. Available on Pre-Order at BongoGadgets.com
